Golden Chariot - Splendor of the South
South India is a treasure trove of natural beauties and historical monuments. The culture of the region is remarkable distinct from the rest of India. In eight days, the Golden Chariot takes travelers to the temple cities of Chennai and Mamallapuram as well as the serene backwaters of Kerala. And is that was not enough, you also get to enjoy at the sandy beaches of Kovalam and the port city of Kochi.

Day 1: Gather at the Leela Palace hotel for lunch. Sightseeing tour of the city of Bangalore. Board the The Golden Chariot - Splendor of The South. Depart for Chennai. Dinner on board.
Day 2: Visit Mamallapuram, the open-air museum of sculptures in living rock. Return to Chennai and go for a city sightseeing tour including St. Mary's Church, Saint Thomas Cathedral,Kapaleeshwarar Temple, Sri Parathasarathy Temple and the National Art Gallery and Museum. Depart for Pondicherry. Dinner on board.
Day 3: Sightseeing tour of Pondicherry which was once a French colony and even today gives more of a feeling of French culture than Indian. Visit Auroville, a novel concept in education and urban living. Also take a tour of the Aurobindo Ashram. Depart for Trichy. Dinner on board.
Day 4: Explore Trichy' attractions today, the historic Rock Fort including the Rock Fort Temple followed by Ucchi Pillayar Koil - a Lord Ganesh Temple. Later visit Tanjore to view its most famous attraction - Brihadeshwara temple, a world heritage site.
Day 5: Explore the city of Madurai including the Meenakshi Temple, Thirumalai Nayak Palace & Thiruparangundram temple. Depart for Trivandrum. Dinner on board.
Day 6: City sightseeing tour of Trivandrum which is now known as Thiruvanantpuram. This includes The Padmanabhaswamy Temple,Napier Museum and Sri Chitra Art Gallery. Lunch at Poovar island. Time to explore the beaches of Poovar. In the evening, enjoy a grand dinner with music and dance.
Day 7: Enjoy backwater cruise from Alleppey to Kumarakom. Tour at Kumarakom and post lunch begin a city exploration trip of Kochi. See the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, fishing hamlets & nearly a century old Chinese fishing nets. In the evening, enjoy dinner with performance of Kathakali artist. Depart for Bangalore.
Day 8 : Arrive Bangalore. End of the journey.
